People come to Les Menuires principally for its skiing. Even though Les 3 Vallées remains the main attraction for skiers, the Les Menuires ski area meets the requirements of even the most demanding thanks to the variety of its pistes, the quality of its lift system and, above all, the guarantee of great snow which has permitted the resort to launch the “Guaranteed ski”.
The ski area also has fun areas, such as the Walibi Gliss, favourite family playgrounds, or the BK Park for budding freestylers. But its best kept secret is the virgin slopes where guides and ski instructors take their off-piste skiing fans. However the beauty of these itineraries, from the Lac du Lou to the Vallée des Encombres, has not escaped everyone.
Situated at an altitude of 1850m, on the West facing slope of the valley bathed in sun right up until the evening, the resort of Les Menuires has all the advantages of a ski from the doorstep resort. The urban character that marked its beginning has left its place to a new architecture of chalets and up market residences, with their stone and wood façades. The accommodation has become more spacious and more welcoming, and visitors benefit from a whole range of services and equipment, such as private swimming pools and spas, often included in the accommodation package offered by the Les Menuires hotels and tourist residences.
