Starting out on skis in a small area can be an excellent introduction.
In the ‘Easy Rider’ area, beginner skiers and snowboarders can get off to a gentle start. With just a few pistes and lifts, novice skiers can progress at their own pace and gain confidence on the snow.
The EASY RIDER label
Concentrating on their technique, beginners need an easily recognisable and suitable route. That's why the ‘Easy Rider’ label, with its PINK colour code, is so easy to recognise. One of the first slopes to be awarded the label in Les Menuires is the Montagnette.
Buying the EASY RIDER MINI PASS
You can buy the Easy Rider Mini Pass online or at a sales outlet.
Please note that this pass only covers a small number of ski lifts. And it only includes the number of passes you need to go at your own pace if you're a first-timer on skis. When you buy your MINI PASS EASY RIDER pass, don't forget to ask for the beginners' map.
Tips for getting started
Take the EASY RIDER map with you to find out which routes are included in the beginners' package.
Ask a professional for advice on the choice of equipment (ski-snowboard, boots, poles) to make learning easier and avoid injuries. All equipment should be selected according to level and body type, then correctly adjusted.
Always carry the essential accessories: helmet, sunglasses (or goggles), sun cream, gloves and ski clothing.
Dress in several layers. So that you're neither too hot nor too cold. Several layers are better than just one on the slopes.
Listen to yourself if you're tired. Say no to one descent too many, finish the run you're on calmly or opt for a gondola descent if you have one on your route.
