Learn the easy way

Getting to grips with skiing is so much easier in a small area. With just a few runs and ski lifts, the "Easy Rider" area is the perfect place for beginners to get off to a gentle start.

The EASY RIDER label

Whilst their focus is on their technique, beginners need a route that is easily recognisable and adapted to suit their level. The pink "Easy Rider" label is exactly that.

Buying an MINI PASS EASY RIDER

You can buy your pass online or in one of our sales outlets. Please note that it only covers a small number of ski lifts, and the amount of runs you need to progress in your own time. When you buy your pass, please make sure you ask for the beginner’s piste map.

EASY RIDER MINI PASS Winter 2024-2025: 35€

Are you well insured?

Depending on what needs to be done, on-piste rescue can be expensive. On average, a helicopter rescue costs between €1,800 and €3,000, and an on-piste rescue around €430 (according to carreneige.com).

With ‘Carré Neige’ insurance, for just €3.30 a day and €49 for the season, you'll be covered for the cost of on-slope rescue, reimbursement of lift passes and/or ski lessons, and ambulance transport. What do you think about that?

Top tips for starting out

  • Take the EASY RIDER piste map with you to find out which routes are included in the beginner’s pass

  • Get professional advice on the choice of equipment to make it easier for you to learn, and to avoid any injuries. Your equipment should be chosen to suit your level and body type and be adjusted accordingly.

  • Make sure you always have the essentials with you, including a helmet, sunglasses (or goggles), sun cream, gloves and suitable ski clothing.

  • Wear several layers, so that you are neither too hot nor too cold.

  • Listen to your body. If you start to feel tired, don’t push yourself; finish the run you’re on, or head back down in a gondola if you can.

  • Check the weather forecast before you set out and make sure you dress appropriately.

  • If you want to progress further, contact the ski schools – they will be able to provide the instruction you need to help you improve your technique.

Practice makes progress

If you can ski already, or if the EASY RIDER zone seems a bit small for you, we suggest you start exploring Les Menuires & Saint-Martin ski area, with the appropriate skipass.
