Before you soak up breath-taking views from the summit of the iconic Pointe de la Masse, an unforgettable experience awaits you!

Step aboard a glass-bottomed cabin, showcasing views over the mountain range below, and become fully immersed in your surroundings… the 8 to 10-minute ascent will make you feel as though you are flying like an eagle. A dizzying show appears beneath your feet as you rise up: a few cows graze peacefully, marmots dash around, hikers wave as you go past, a green lake glimmers below you…

The opening of the lifts

The Pointe de la Masse gondola lift is open from Sunday to Wednesday, from 9.30am to 12.45pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

The other lifts in Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville are open 7 days a week, from 9.30am to 12.45pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

Make the most of the French bank holiday to explore the hiking paths from the top of the Pointe de la Masse. The gondola lift will be open on Thursday August 15th, in addition to its usual opening days.

A visit to the engine room

After this exceptional ascent, when you get to the arrival station make sure you pay a visit to the engine room, a free museum that will reveal exactly how the gondola lift works. From the engine to the cabin, not forgetting the lift profile and the different jobs involved, immerse yourself in a behind-the-scenes visit of this ski lift to find out how it was built. Fun and educational, this museum is home to a LEGO® model that will delight visitors of all ages.

360° views

Afterwards, soak up 360° views from the terrace at the top, it’s breath-taking! You’ve got several choices: take a photo in front of Les Menuires’ giant letters, do a quiz on the names of the iconic summits thanks to the different frames positioned facing the views, sunbathe on the deckchairs, or pose for a selfie with the wooden ibex? A unique and magical way to spend a moment during your holiday…
